RATUSNY, Josephine Jean (née Hotzak)
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Josephine Jean Ratusny of Midhurst, Ontario, on the evening of December 11, 2024, at the age of 81 years. Josey was surrounded by her family in her last moments as she succumbed to pancreatic cancer, after overcoming breast cancer in 2023.
Josey was the heart and foundation of the family. She will lovingly be remembered by her surviving spouse of 59 years, Dcn. John Ratusny. Loving and devoted mother to Dorothy (Ryan), John Thomas (Christina) & Catherine (Troy). Proud baba to Richard, Maxine, Christophe, Joshua, and Sebastian. Cherished sister-in-law to Arleen (Malcolm), sister to Ted (Darlene) and nephews Steven (Rachel) and Sean (Shannon). Josey was adored by her cousins, especially Dorothy Vitelli (née Urbanski), Gladys Neely (née Zomchek), and numerous relatives and friends and she kept in contact over the years through visits, phone calls, and her many thoughtful cards & letters. She will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on January 19 at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday January 20th at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish, 65 Amelia St., Barrie. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Online memories and condolences may be shared via www.steckleygooderham.com
