It’s with great sadness the family announces the passing of Sonia Vivian Penna who died peacefully at the Georgian Bay General Hospital at the age of 84 after a long ordeal with dementia.

Sonia is survived by her son David Penna (Brenda), and predeceased by her husband Ron Desroches and daughter Kim. Sonia will be sadly missed by her five sisters Karen (Thyret), Judy (Alford), Sue (Veh), Barbara (Kidd), and Greta (Garriock) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sonia was the eldest daughter of Fred and Lissen Bodtker (deceased).

A longtime resident of Penetang, Sonia worked at the Toronto Dominion bank for twenty five years until her retirement. In retirement she pursued her hobbies which included bridge (a proud grandmaster), voracious reading, poker, snow birding in Florida, swimming, and visiting family.
