MOREAU, Nancy June (Young)
November 4, 1952 – February 2, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Nancy June Moreau (Young) of Wyevale has passed away peacefully at the age of 72, surrounded by family & her closest friends on February 2, 2025. This ends a short battle with cancer, but a long battle with many other health ailments.
Nancy was a dedicated and loving wife to Jerome (Doc) , whom she shared 42 amazing years of marriage with. She was a proud mother to sons Jeff (Brooke) and Jody (Beth). A loving Granny to her grandchildren William, Henry, Amelia, Olivia, Alison and Eric.
Nancy was a very kind, generous person who always put her family first above her own needs. Simply put, she was the heartbeat of the family and held a beautiful and special relationship with each member. She rarely missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and was often seen in the stands cheering them on in their chosen endeavors. Her guidance, advice, and expertise will forever be missed.
Nancy will be missed by life-long friends Susan, Kathie, Chris and Tanya; her brother and sister- in- laws, the late Lawrence ( Karen), the late Angelle, Herb (the late Linda), Isabel, Yvonne, Russell (Nancy).
Nancy is predeceased by her parents Ron and June, brothers Wayne, Allan and David, as well as her mother and father-in-law Angelina and Ferdinand. She will remain in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and many friends. Nancy had a way of leaving an imprint on those she met along the way.
Nancy worked for Bell Canada for over 30 years; 25 as a manager- paving the way for women in management in her industry. In the later years, she enjoyed socializing at her coffee club at Wyevale Jug City. Nancy took pride in both her family and her community. She was involved over the years in Elmvale Minor Hockey as an executive and the Wyevale Cemetery Board.
Nancy took pride in being an advocate for those without a voice in many avenues. No cause was too small. She was a force to be reckoned with at times. She often inspired her family and close friends to leap without bounds. She possessed many great talents, including teaching through her story telling, listening and being an unwavering supporter of all that sought her guidance.
The life of this extraordinary woman will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22nd, from 1pm – 5pm at the Elmvale Community Hall, 33 Queen St W, Elmvale. Speeches will begin at 3:30pm.
