HORNE, Larry

It is with heartbreaking sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Larry Horne at his home in Mexico on Sunday October 27, 2024 at the age of 75.

Beloved son of Edith Horne and the late Robert Horne of Stroud Ontario. Larry leaves behind his loving wife Lois, his daughter Sherri (Stephen) and his step daughters Sonya and Crystal.

Larry was the oldest of 10 children and will be sadly missed by his siblings. Lois (Sandy), George (Sepi), Jimmy (John), Andy, Johnny, Brenda (Alex), Brian (predeceased), Robby and Greg and many Nieces and Nephews.

Larry grew up in Stroud Ontario and later moved to Edmonton Alberta. He then traveled to Kelowna BC. He fell in love with Kelowna where he developed many properties. He was very talented and built each house as a showcase one after another. He then decided to move back to Ontario and became the owner of the carpet shop in Elmvale. Operating a business didn’t stop him from building more homes.

In 2015 Larry and his wife moved to their cottage in Creston BC and in 2019 to Vulcan Alberta. In 2020 Larry and Lois started their retirement dream, and that was travelling. They took their comfortable RV and headed to Daytona Beach FL.  After travelling state to state, their adventure ended at Chapala Mexico. Once more he started rebuilding what would become his final home.

Larry travelled a lot and saw many beautiful places but the place that always made him happy was the Big White Ski Resort in BC where Larry and his friends had many adventures.

Larry will be missed by everyone who knew him. He touched everyone’s life in his own unique way.
