DIXON, Bob

1938 – 2024

On the afternoon of June 19, 2024, Bob Dixon peacefully passed away at the age of 85 in the presence of his beloved wife Glenda. Son of Bert & Doris Dixon (nee Barrett), brother to Bruce & Donna, Bob was a talented, lifelong musician who loved singing and playing the guitar, a joy that started at a young age playing live shows with his father’s band. A love of nature fueled extensive outdoor adventures including camping, canoeing and hiking and led to Glenda’s Gardens, the landscape & perennial garden company he and Glenda owned for 30+ years.  Quick to laugh, Bob enjoyed entertaining and was always up for a good round of horseshoes or darts. A fixture in every community he lived in, he hosted neighbourhood get-togethers, participated in the Elmvale Christmas parade, Maple Syrup Festival and joyfully performed alongside fellow musicians every chance he could.  Bob leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Glenda (nee Johnston), son Chris, daughter Glendalynn and son-in-law Curtis. Per his wishes, no service was held.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Huronia – Tomkins House. His memory lives on in the gardens he created and the really bad dad jokes he loved to tell.
