Mar. 11, 2025 – We are true north strong! So let’s be patriotic with our wallets. The centre spread of this paper, with the ‘Canada Strong’ could be in everyone’s front windows to showcase our pride. The centre spread highlights some tools that can help you shop Canadian in order to save our country from the effects of a tariff war. This one is for Doug Rawson of Rawsons Meat and Deli in Penetanguishene. Doug thought a poppie should be the only thing on the centre spread for Remembrance day so that people could paste it in their windows with pride and honour. Great idea! If you have not shopped there then I encourage you to try it. The prices are very good and the quality is superior. Canadian store, Canadian products with local meat. I thought a Canada Flag would be a good centre spread for Canada Day and I am planning on that. So I am starting a new tradition with this paper. I thought we needed this now with our neighbours being so greedy. I can hardly wait for Canada Day this year!
ADVERTISERS:
I am starting a new Canadian products section of the paper.
Please reach out and let me know if you want to be in this section. You will need to prove that you are Canada locally sourced and locally owned. Not an easy task.
Canadian culture, politics, statutory holidays, traditions, locally grown foods are some examples of how we differ from USA. This next sentence is another example.
In my neighbourhood, the theatre is running a local programme about the behaviour of a narcissistic councellor, so I put on my favourite woollen toque, grabbed my driver’s licence, and headed to the centre while enjoying the colour of the fall maple leaves.
So Canadians, stay strong and true to our business’ that are greatly affected by the raised tariffs. I am proud to say this paper is 100% Canadian.
