Bayshore Seniors Club

By Lorri Watson, President and Club Manager

BOND, SHARE, SOCIALIZE, CONNECT.  Four words that shaped our past, embodies our present and echoes the original commitment to our future: as envisioned by our 10 founding members.

January 1, 2025, wasn’t just New Year’s Day, but the beginning of our 50th Anniversary Year!

50 years ago, Bay Shore’s vision was to open our doors to the community, give them a place to gather for recreational activities and events and make new friendships in Tiny South Woodland Beach and surrounding areas in every way possible.

Today Bay Shore Seniors are thriving! We have been completely Membership Owned and Operated since 1975.

We offer over 20 activities weekly, run by dedicated and friendly volunteers. Activities offered include indoor pickleball, darts, shuffleboard, access art, wood carving with master carvers, book club, bid euchre, cribbage, choir and billiards. Our Lifestyles Activity had belly dancers teach some techniques.

We also have a full kitchen and bar facilities used for our numerous special events.

Our 50th anniversary celebrations will continue monthly throughout the year, culminating next December with a party to fill our Time Capsule and seal our legacy.

Do you want to become part of an active vibrant Seniors community? Drop by and become part of our future.

Le Club de l’Âge d’Or de Lafontaine

Angelina Peters, Club President

Our organisation is the only French Club in the Township of Tiny. Although we have existed since November 1972, we were incorporated in 2001 as a not-for-profit organisation.

The Club offers many activities for all. It includes card playing, exercise sessions, art classes, sewing, embroidery, quilting, story telling, musical presentations, singing sessions and of course meals for special occasions.  This year, we included soap making and card making with dried flowers. Many activities are intergenerational as the school students often participate with us. We own a unit in Le Villageois and our residents also participate in our activities. We also rent our unit for special occasions.

Although we are a French Club, we accept any other language as long as they do not mind if sometimes, we speak French. Many of our seniors also do a lot of volunteer work in the community. Our seniors are active and therefore have a better quality of life. You can become a member of Le Club de l’Âge d’Or de Lafontaine for $10.00 annually.
