Hello everyone. It’s true. There’s a lot of unrest in the world.
In Luke 21:8-11 Jesus tells us, “When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away … Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.”
We may not be in a position to bring peace to the world, but we can know the One who can bring peace to our hearts and minds. His name is Jesus. In John 14:25-27, Jesus tells us, “All this I have spoken while still with you, but the Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
In John 16:33, Jesus said, “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble but take heart, I have overcome the world.”
Jesus’ death and resurrection did for us what we cannot do for ourselves. In Him, we can have life everlasting and right now, in this moment, we can have the peace that passes all understanding, the peace that only Jesus can provide.
We only need faith the size of a mustard seed – that’s a small amount of faith! He will do the rest. In Isaiah 26:3, we read that when we trust Him steadfastly, He will keep us in perfect peace.
The Bible provides testimonies of people living then, and we can hear testimonies of people living now. Each testimony is evidence that the peace Jesus gives to us is not a myth or a pleasant story. His peace is real. He can provide it in every situation we face. Let’s increase our trust in Him today. He won’t disappoint us. Amen.
