Your U9 LL Elmvale Coyotes
By Keeley St. Germain, Nov. 18, 2024
As the first puck dropped for the 2024-2025 hockey season, the Elmvale Coyotes U9 team has hit the ice with a sense of hard work and dedication. They have shown a commitment to improve during both practices and games. The team has put in countless hours of practice in preparation for the first part of the season. The squad is filled with new hockey players, a solid group of determined underage players as well seasoned veterans. Though they are young, the U9 team has shown a strong desire to grow and advance their skills.
Our opponents have started the games with lots of pressure knowing they are facing a very strong Elmvale team. Although the U9 LL team has faced some tough competition, the Coyotes have played fearlessly and have managed to hold off the strong starts of their opponents and push back by winning puck battles, skating hard and putting pucks in the back of the net. “Our focus this season is not just about wins and loses, but about creating a culture of hard work, teamwork, respect and fun” says Team Trainer Matt Waldron. That being said the U9 LL team has started the season hot with 4 wins, 1 loss and a hard-fought tie against a tough Oro team.
As the season progresses and the players transition to full ice, the competition will continue to improve, as will our Elmvale Coyotes. The players are all eager for the transition to full ice and to take on the next challenge. Their willingness to play hard for each other and be all-round great teammates will allow us to handle both victory and defeat as a team. The remainder of the season is packed with practices, games, jamborees and tournaments. It will be an exciting season filled with big wins and heartbreaking defeats. But one thing to be sure about is that our U9 LL team will leave it all on the ice and continue to make Elmvale proud.
Bring your noise makers and come out to cheer on your home town U9 Elmvale Coyote team. It is sure to be a season of thrilling and high energy games. Go Coyotes.

The Penetang Kings were busy from November 2nd to 9th playing five games in the nine-day time span and padded the standings with six points over this time span.

Hutchinson received the Kings player of the game honours for his efforts in the game.
The Kings returned home to a packed house Friday November 8th on Magna Night at the Penetanguishene Memorial Community Centre and dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to the number one rival the Midland Flyers in overtime. In front of the largest crowd of the season the Kings held the for most of the game leading 2-0 and then 3-1 before Midland tied the score with under three minutes remaining in regulation time before Josh Underwood of the Flyers scored the overtime winner at 1:43 of the extra period. Penetang had built a 4-0 lead before Orillia scored a goal late in the second period and then followed up with another midway in the third stanza before scoring two goals in the final 1:03 to tie the contest and send it to overtime. Orillia’s Evan Feltis then scored just 1:04 into the extra frame to cement the win. Penetang looked like they ran out of gas as the contest went on having played three games in less than 50 hours. Tanner Thayer netted two goals for the Kings with Cole Rumbolt and Riley Thayer chipping in single tallies. Simec turned aside 51 shots in the Penetang goal while the Kings managed 34 shots on the Orillia goalkeepers. Simec earned the Kings player of the game selection.
