Oct. 21, 2024 – It’s been some time since I submitted my Minesing Moments article, and for that I apologize. Life gets busy and I haven’t had a whole lot to report. I always like to invite people to contribute to our Minesing Moments so if you have an event coming up or a Birthday wish you’d like to share with the community, please let me know at my new email address LorrNor71@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you and share your news.
Thanksgiving weekend came and went with beautiful weather, and we’ve had several days follow up with same warm sunny days. I hope you were able to enjoy time with family or friends to celebrate.
The leaves are at their peak now and I’m sure they will be falling any time soon. This may be the week to get out and go for a hike or drive to enjoy the view and take in the beautiful colours that mother nature delivers. Remember to take a few moments before you start your raking to stretch a little bit because if you are anything like me, your shoulder muscles will be screaming if you don’t!
Halloween will be here in no time and the trick or treaters will be knocking at our doors. Remember to leave your house well lit for the children to know you are home. In my time here in Minesing, I have always enjoyed the well-mannered children who come to my door and I know this year won’t be any different. If you do have to drive, please remember to go slow and watch out for children who are full of excitement and may not be following the rules of the road as much as they should.
Mark your calendars for Friday December 13th as the 5th Annual Christmas Tractor Parade as it is back again! The parade will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will make its way around the community. Please remember to bring items for the Elmvale Food Bank. It’s always so warming to know that our community contributes to the foodbank in such a generous way and this year will be no different, I am sure. We look forward to what our local farms and neighbours have in store for decorations this year! More details will follow on the Minesing Facebook page and in future editions of this newspaper.
Until next time, maybe buy an extra box of Halloween candy because who doesn’t love leftovers?
